Simon Humphries
Chief Engineer & Product Manager, Medium & Heavy Duty Trucks,
ISUZU Australia Limited
Simon Humphries is a professional engineer with over thirty years’ experience in the heavy vehicle industry. Roles in this time include senior engineer and fleet manager of the Royal Australian Air Force vehicle fleet, Product Planning and Engineering Support Manager at Isuzu Australia, then Business Manager, East Coast for Wesfarmers LNG. Simon was Chief Technical Officer at the Truck Industry Council (TIC) for over three years from 2010 to 2013. He returned to Isuzu Australia in late 2013 to the role of Chief Engineer, Product Strategy.
Isuzu Australia Limited is the official importer and distributor for the Isuzu brand of trucks, which has been the Australian truck market leader for 34 years. Simon’s current role is responsible for engineering oversight of the entire range of Isuzu trucks sold in Australia, as well as the Product Management function for Medium and Heavy Duty trucks in the range.
In addition to his Aeronautical Engineering degree from RMIT University, Simon has earned a Master of Business Administration in Technology Management from Deakin University. Simon has been a voluntary contributor to the Australian Road Transport Suppliers Association (ARTSA and ARTSA-i) as an Executive member for over 20 years, and actively representing the industry through Truck Industry Council for a similar time.
