Isabel is a project officer in the knowledge development team at the Australian Institute for Disaster Resilience and recently completed her PhD at the University of Melbourne which examined the ways that emergency management volunteers in Victoria do community engagement to support household preparedness for natural hazards. Isabel supported the development of the Planning for Animals Handbook and is passionate about making sure humans and animals are safe during natural hazards. She is inspired daily by her two cats and three chickens.
